Seven more big cats at the Bronx Zoo have tested positive, the new coronavirus test results are positive, including Four tigers and three African lions.
At present, 7 large cats have been diagnosed with infection in this famous New York City zoo.
In early April, the zoo announced that a 4-year-old Malayan tiger virus named Nadia tested positive, and three other tigers and three African lions showed similar symptoms. After testing the six animals, the zoo confirmed that they were indeed infected with the new coronavirus. In addition, the test result of another tiger was also positive, but it did not show any symptoms.
The zoo said that these eight animals are currently performing normally and have good appetite. They were infected by a staff member, but it is unclear how the infection occurred. The Bronx Zoo has been closed since March 16. Media said that at present, all the staff in the four zoos managed by the New York Wildlife Conservation Association have taken preventive measures.
